What is Online Threads Post Generator?
Threads Post Generator is a free mockup tool for posts on Threads, the text-first app from the makers of Instagram. Type the post, add a username and a profile photo, and it is laid out the way Threads shows it: round avatar with the small follow button, username with the blue badge, an optional topic tag, the time, your text, photos, and the heart, reply, repost and share buttons with their counts underneath.
Marketers use it to show clients what a launch announcement will look like before it goes live, teachers and journalists to illustrate stories about the platform without quoting real users, and everyone else to turn a good joke into a screenshot. Nothing is published and no Threads or Instagram login is involved.
Write a Whole Thread, Not Just One Post
Threads got its name from chains of connected posts, so the tool can draw those too. Put three dashes β --- β on a line of their own wherever the next post should begin. Each part gets its own avatar and header, joined to the previous one by the grey line Threads draws between them. The first post carries the photos and the engagement numbers; the later ones show plain buttons, like follow-up posts that are still fresh.
Photos and Topic Tags
- One photo is shown whole, with rounded corners, up to the height Threads allows in the feed.
- Two to four photos become a swipeable-looking carousel of portrait tiles that runs off the right edge, exactly where Threads cuts it.
- A topic tag appears after the username with a small arrow, the way Threads now labels posts by subject.
- Mentions, hashtags and links in the text are coloured blue automatically.
How to use Online Threads Post Generator?

- Upload up to four photos and set an optional topic and the time.
- Enter the username, upload a profile photo, and choose the verified badge and follow button.
- Fill in the like, reply, repost and share counts, or leave any empty to hide it.
- Pick light or dark mode and use "Export Post" to download a PNG or copy the image.
Frequently asked questions
Can I show the post as liked?
Yes. "Liked by You" fills the heart and turns it and the like count red, which is how a post you have liked looks in the app.
How do I make it look like someone reposted it?
Type a name in "Reposted By" and a small "name reposted" line with the repost arrows appears above the post. Leave it empty for an ordinary post.
Why does a count disappear when I set it to 0?
Threads does not print zeros: a post without replies just shows the reply button. The tool follows that, so an empty or "0" value hides the number but keeps the icon.
What size is the PNG?
The post is 600 pixels wide, close to the Threads column on the web, and is saved at double resolution, 1200 pixels wide. Its height depends on the text, photos and number of posts in the thread.
